Empowering Communities Through Water Stories and Solutions

In Namibia’s Kunene Region, a local community has constructed a canal from the perennial Kunene River to bring water directly to their homes and livestock. This grassroots effort highlights the power of community-led adaptation in arid environments, blending traditional knowledge with practical innovation to overcome water scarcity.

The Centre for Water Innovation Namibia (C-WIN) proudly secured second place in the Just Transition to the Future (JTF) Water-Energy Nexus Open Innovation Challenge, organized by the Capricorn Foundation in collaboration with UNIDO, NGIN, and CcHUB Namibia. C-WIN's innovative solution addresses water and energy challenges in Namibia's drought-prone regions, contributing to sustainable development and community resilience.
